World’s Biggest Casinos

A casino (or gaming hall) is a facility that houses and accommodates certain types of gambling activities. Gambling is a popular pastime and there are casinos located in every region of the world. While the United States leads the way with 2,147 casinos, other countries are also home to some of the biggest and most profitable casinos in the world.

It comes as no surprise that Las Vegas holds a stronghold on the number one spot when it comes to the world’s biggest casinos. The Sin City is famous for being a place where people can gamble, party and make their fortunes. It’s no wonder that so many people want to visit.

The next biggest casino is found in Oklahoma, the land of Woody Guthrie and chicken fried steak. It’s called Winstar World Casino and it boasts a staggering 519,000 square feet of gaming space. The casino offers a wide variety of games including blackjack, roulette, baccarat and craps as well as poker games such as Texas hold’em, seven card stud, Omaha and Pai Gow.

In third place is Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Roman-themed casino is home to 185 table games and more than 2,300 slot machines. It also features a range of live entertainment and has had the privilege of hosting luminaries such as Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Cher and Mariah Carey.

In fourth place is the Venetian Macao in Macau, China. This is the largest casino in the world by floor space and mimics the style of the Venice canals. It was once a Portuguese colony but it has been transferred back to Chinese control and casinos now account for over 50 percent of the territory’s economy.
