Life in Paris: Day 6-7 (classes at MUFE Academy)

Tuesday and Wednesday, April 3-4

Bonjour Lovies!!

Things here in Paris are still going great- I’m slowly starting to adjust to the 9 hour time difference.  Not that I’ve been getting much sleep, as who wants to sleep when there’s so much to do here!  :)

The last couple days of school have been fantastic, and I’m still learning new things which is exciting.  Yesterday we learned all about face shapes and how to contour for each shape.  I knew already some of the techniques, but got to really fine tune my skills by learning how to use different brushes and types of makeup products.  We practiced on each other then on models using foundations, concealers, cream and powder contour powders.  Was really interesting to see the different effects just using different products and brushes!

Andrelina showing how to contour for each face shape:

Left side of the model contoured, right side isn’t:

Today was all about bridal makeup:  Asian Bridal (very dramatic) as well as Western Traditional (more simple).  We learned how to give a flawless look for a bride’s special day- making the makeup last all day while remaining natural looking for photography.  We went over primers- different colors for different purposes.  Purple for yellow tinted skin, pink for mature skin to brighten it up, green for redness in the skin, and yellow to warm up the face.

Nicola came to school today to be a model- she looks so excited to get her makeup done ;)  I had my teacher Mattieu show me how to do brows, while Kristen did my makeup.  Was weird being in the chair instead of me doing someone else’s makeup! haha

Not much else for the last couple days as I’ve been at school all day, and after school I spend my time cleaning my brushes and walking everywhere to pick up things I need.  I’m pooped! haha ;)

I hope you’re having a great week so far! I’m absolutely loving Paris- I may just accidentally lose my ticket back ;)  Give the US a big hug for me!

Beaucoup d’amour,

Marlena
