Since it’s hot as you-know-where here in California, I have to stay cool by wearing as little as possible. (ooh la la) So, I LOVE wearing these Maxi dresses as they are breezy and lightweight- perfect for hot summer weather! I also found these sunset nails on pinterest and wanted to give them a try. I really love how they turned out! It took me about 10 tries to get it right, but it was worth all the effort in the end

Outfit Details:

Surplice Maxi Dress – Agaci ($27.50)
Wooden Beads Bracelets - Tillys ($6.99)
Knit Fedora Hat - Claires ($18.00)
Cropped Denim Jacket – Styles ($26.99)
Beaded Necklace – A’gaci ($7.90)
Braided Flip Flops – Tillys ($28.99)

Nails:

Essie Nail Polish – Fear or Desire (Amazon)
Essie Nail Polish – Bachelorette Bash (Amazon)
Spoiled by Wet N Wild Nail Polish – Designated Driver

Tools needed:

3 nail polish colors – yellow, orange, and pink
Clear top coat
Nail polish remover
Pointed Q-Tips (I found mine at Target)
Cosmetic sponges (also from Target)
Gauze (optional, but it makes for easier cleanup!)

That is a wonderful nai art design… I did the same thing as you did but with the colors of the rainbow,but i think that i am going to give these sunset nails a try

I’m taking this to my nail salon to see if they will do my nails, I have no patience to do this myself. I love the whole ensemble, except I can’t do cropped jackets because I have such a long torso (which is a good thing so I’m totally not complaining).

I’m curious because I have heard a lot about the heat in Cali, but then I see celebs in magazines out and about dressed like it is winter there, what exactly is the temp where you are? I’m in North Carolina and it hasn’t gone below 90 degrees here all summer long, plus we have ridiculous humidity, so I prefer to wear as little as possible, but it is hard to do that and stay sophisticated. Please keep doing posts like this! I love them.

  Right now it’s 100 degrees in Sacramento, so I just wear maxi dresses all summer! At night when the sun goes down, I put on a jacket as it starts to cool…

Hey Marlena – I wanted to tell you I visit you’re blog and you’re make up geek site at least once a day to see any updates. And to get inspiration on what I should do before work, or go out or whatever. So I was curious you always have the most amazing looks – and you are gorgeous! Amazing job on the weight loss journey! But I am to ask you if you could to a tutorial on what you do with you’e eye brows. I have the problem of sometimes I will get foundation and eye primer in my eye brows, and I will get a q-tip and basically get it out. But I was wondering what do you do? Thanks so much <3
